Gordon Matta-Clark: Circus

Gray Burke & Erik Olliges

Difficult to grasp in their spatial complexity, and even more so since the run-down buildings that Gordon Matta-Clark appropriated for his sculptures were destroyed shortly after his interventions, the digital and physical model appears to be the ideal instrument to document the American artist’s “non.u.mental“ work. On that basis, this project aims to re-construct Gordon Matta-Clark’s intervention “Circus” or, also known as, Caribbean Orange.
